Moving tips for students

August in Austin means thousands of college students moving into new dorm rooms, apartments, and houses.  The moving process can be stressful and exhausting, especially for students, who are often moving into new places every year.  When moving, here are some tips to make the process a little easier on yourself and your movers:

-Prepare for the heat by wearing light weight clothes and cool but appropriate footwear.

-If you are packing your stuff before movers come, remember not to pack boxes full and use light and easy to carry containers.

-If moving into an apartment complex or dorm, know your room number and location in order to avoid confusion and lost time.

-Be organized and stick to the basics.  Packing things by location or room is very helpful, and going through your belongings before moving decreases the time spent moving.
